Tsfat Steps

Life In Tsfat Depends On The Citizenship Of Passionate Artists, Torah Scholars, Musicians, Peaceniks And New Immigrant From North America, Russia And Ethiopia Who Lay Their Trust In Those Who Represent Them By Struggling For Their Rights And The Betterment Of Their Quality Of Life.

People like those selected to be interviewed in the Tsfat.org people section give their life to the betterment of Tsfat and are in fact a credit to the town's beauty and success. Rabbi Marzel, an emissary of the Lubavitcher Rebbe has dedicated the past three decades to refurbishing and building up the Jewish Community in Tsfat. His Chabad House has sponsored many event in the cultural and educational realms, providing a support structure for the furtherance of Mitzvahs and Torah. Although his plate is full of new projects, everyone that knows him personally, knows that his door is always open and that he is a person that would never leave an empty hand reached out towards him... empty. The fact is that this Rabbi from the authors first hand speculation is only able to give and continue giving and this point is why Tsfat needs such leaders and why Tsfat is succeeding in the world today.

Another leader with less spiritual emphasis is Mr. Amos Lotan, a businessman that is committed to making Tsfat a successful venture for any and every entrepreneur. Mr. Lotan has dedicated himself for over three decades with the mission of making Tsfat a destination for visitors from all over the world. His greatest concern is what is known as "Derech Eretz" what is seen as good by the visitors is a blessing for the residents. And so his mission of Tourism Administrator stands strong in showcasing the city of Tsfat in the most favorable light possible both in it's public relations and media outlets as well as in it's day to day tourist offerings and service. With leaders like Amos Lotan, Tsfat will continue to look better and better in eyes of visitors the world over.

Many, many more leader have and are shaping the success of today and tomorrow's Tsfat, another worth mentioning is the political leader of the city, Mr. Ilan Shochad. Mayor Shochad campaigned for his political office with the position of giving the younger generation the tools and good reasons to remain in Tsfat and raise their own children here. An admirer of all the religious flavors as well as the artistic endeavors. Mr. Mayor has pushed as much as he can in major sectors like the International Klezmer Festival, Log BaOmer Rashbi celebration and has developed deep ties with national politician that are finally ready to push Tsfat farther up the ladder of success. Recently the mayor took the state at the opening to the Klezmer Festival and sang no less than ten versions of Lecha Dodee a song that is sung by millions of Jews the world over in welcoming the Shabbos on Friday night as well a song that the good mayor boasts was written here in Tsfat several hundred years ago.
